The trial scheme started in 2012 in two health trusts and was extended to four health trusts in 2014. The aim of the trial scheme was to promote knowledge of the work in order to ensure a proper health offer in the specialist health services, including oral health. The National Budget for 2017 states that the Ministry of Health and Care Services has an evaluation of the trial scheme in mind for 2018.
